So I guess it's safe to say that it is the internal card reader that is causing the problem. Same problem, sometimes it works, sometimes it fails after a couple of images.įinally I dug out an old USB external card readers by Hama, and every card I plug in just works fine, time after time. For most shooters, Type B is what you need. ![]() However, Sony produced the first CFexpress Type A cards when it launched the a7S III featuring CFexpress Type A slots. A vast majority of existing cameras make use of the Type B format, likely because it was a smooth transition from XQD. To rule out a possible Capture One Pro failure, I tried copying images from the card to the Mac OS finder. Today we have two options for CFexpress formats: Type A and Type B. Sometimes it works, more often it doesn't, not card dependent. ![]() To rule out the SD-card I tried several cards, both importing from C1P and directly to Mac OS Finder. On other occasions it works just fine and imports all photographs. After each failed attempt I can't eject the card either. After 5, 20 or 25 images it stops and I get an error message. Since a couple of weeks when I plug in a SD-card the import window of C1P appears, showing all the images like it should do, but when I start to import the images it only imports a small number of photo's from the card. Normally I import my photographs with Capture One Pro. I have a weird problem with the internal card reader of my 27-inch iMac 2017. One thing that works in the meantime is plugging my camera in directly to my laptop and transferring the photos over that way, but it takes a long time and it also means I am unable to use my camera while I wait hours for the photos to transfer over. regular SD cards work but unfortunately as I said earlier, my Nikon camera does not take SD memory cards, only XQD memory card. It is frustrating because I have thousands of photos that I can not get off my memory card. windows laptops it seems to be okay but mac laptops seem to not recognize the XQD card or reader. I tried doing it on my friends laptop to see if that was the issue and it does not work on her mac either. I tried opening up image capture to see if it would recognize it there and it does not. When I insert them into the mac, it does not recognize it or even load it. I purchased 5 different XQD card readers that are compatible with my Mac (USB-C) port. ![]() I have a camera which only uses the XQD memory card.
